Good evening guys, it is curently 10:05 and I am currently getting ready for bed. Over the past few weeks, I have found that the stresses of my life have started to overwhelm and effect me in other places that they had not before. Having dealt with anxiety for the majority of my life and being diagnosed with panic disorder, this is not out of the ordinary. Normally when this is the case, I have to take a step back and evaluate some things going on within or around my life. I have to ask myself why this is happening and if there is anything I can do to resolve it. I have tried countless things through my journey with stress and worry; such as exercise, yoga, jouraling, minfulness, counsiling, medication, etc. Although, I do still practice many of those things daily, I have found that once again I have allowed this wave of anxiety to come over top of me and start to drown out the things that I want to do in my life. However, I know that I am stronger than my fears, doubts, and insecurities and so are you.
This month, I want you to join me in participating in daily meditation and mindfulness. Through this 30 day challenge of meditation, you will find that there are many benefits that you can receive. Harvard did a study that had shown the positve effects of meditation on the brain, compared to non-meditators. When they compared the two focus groups, they had found that the group that had participated in meditation consistantly for the past four weeks had higher rates of satisfaction with their lives, higher rates of compassion, and overall less stress. Participating in mindfulness allows for your brain to be at ease and focus on the true joys of life. Other studies also have shown that, you are more likely to be keen to detail and be more aware of your surroundings, causing your relationships in your life to be smoother, causing less stress and agitation.
As you can see, there are lot of pros to meditating and being mindful daily that you can receive. There are many ways that you can do this, where you do traditional meditiation, trying to use a guided youtube video, or even maybe trying a new app that you have found. We have google at our fingertips and you are one youtube or google search away from a video that will guide you though a mindfulness practuce. I dare you to try meditating for 30 days strait to help yourself feel your best and more at ease. Whether it’s five minutes a day or an hour, I want you to try to take time to yourself to fully let your mind just be at ease.
